In Jan's own words . . .
|
I knew from an early age, growing up on the Isle of Wight,
I would always have horses in my life. From my 11.2 Welsh
Mountain pony I had back then to my 15.3 Irish Draught I have
now.
I lived abroad for a few years, but moved back to Sussex 15
years ago and, after watching my children grow up, I decided
it was time to do something I loved.
I have always had a keen interest in massage therapy and
healing, which I have sub-consciously been practicing on my
some-what tetchy horse for quite a while. I found I had a real
connection with all horses, just by my touch. My horse changed
from being a grumpy, not even happy to be groomed animal, to a
happy, peaceful relaxed horse, over a few sessions.
I find that massage therapy and healing together allows the
horse to experience peace, balance and harmony, in what can be
a very stressful world.
Equine massage therapy is very rewarding not only to me, but
also the horse and the owner. If I walk away from a yard
leaving a happy horse and a happy owner, then I know I have
done my job well.
