As part of your continued professional development this is an opportunity to spend a highly educational & informative day with one of the UK’s leading Master Saddlers.

The Saddle Awareness Day offers members a chance to learn the basic principles of saddle fitting, explore the Saddle Company’s workshop, see how saddles are made and take part in a question and answer session with Dave Johnson Master Saddler.  

The Day will include the following:

Factory tour, see saddles being made, saddle fitting talk by Dave Johnson to include:

  • The importance of the saddle tree

  • How to fit the saddle correctly

  • Correct girthing

  • Correct leathers

  • Potential difficulties of fitting the saddle

  • Awareness of how the horse changes shape

  • Accommodating shape change with the saddle

The Equine Posture workshop is aimed at those wishing to become Equine Massage/Manipulation practitioners and also newly qualified therapists to build confidence and add to the skill set.

Also suitable for owners/riders.

It will involve looking at horses both static and moving to observe how different horses tend to hold tension in different ways.

There will be an introduction to Equine Massage techniques and information about the various routes to becoming qualified and how to enhance skills through CPD after qualification.

It runs from 10 am - 1pm and costs £35.
